Transparency International, the global civil society organization leading the fight against corruption, brings people together in a powerful worldwide coalition to end the devastating impact of corruption on men, women and children around the world.
TI’s mission is to create change towards a world free of corruption.

Founded in 1993, Transparency International now counts more than 90 locally established national chapters and chapters-in-formation, who fight corruption in the national arena.
Unlike countries and their legal jurisdictions, corruption does not know the limitations of borders; therefore, international cooperation is urgently needed to efficiently address corruption issues.

In order to coordinate the efforts of national chapters and develop regional and global strategies to more efficiently tackle corruption, representatives from 81 national chapters gathered in Bali, from 25 to 29 October , for TI’s International Conference and Annual Members Meeting.

The meeting allowed TI to sharpen its focus on strategies addressing the following issues:
- Poverty and development
- Political corruption
- Revenue Transparency
- Civil Society Monitoring
- Corruption in the defense sector
- Corruption in the judiciary system

Recommendations and resolutions on the UN Convention against Corruption and OCDE Anti Bribery Convention were also issued, as well as resolutions on asset recovery, facilitation payments, Myanmar and Pakistan.

The following film documents the process of TI’s Annual Membership Meeting and present’s TI’s policy focus and priorities for the upcoming years.

From 25 to 29 October 2007 200 people from 81 countries gathered in Bali, Indonesia for TI’s International Conference and Annual Members Meeting. Broadly speaking this meeting pursued four goals:
1. Developing global civil society anti-corruption strategies
2. Strengthening anti-corruption technical expertise
3. Building and sharing anti-corruption capacity to enhance effectiveness and
4. Enabling collaborative action.

Important strategic and governance decisions that will substantially shape our work and governance over the next few years, such as the adoption of the TI 2008- 2010 Strategic Framework and of the updating of our National Chapter accreditation and Individual Member policy, were also taken. In addition to the robust content driven discussions that took place in over 50 meetings, social events and vibrant informal exchanges contributed to assert the ties that bind our movement together as a united worldwide force against corruption.
